In General

The south end of the Penn Line runs from Penn Station in Baltimore to Union Station in Washington D.C.

This MARC line runs on Amtrak's NEC - North East Corridor, hence, the trains are electrified most of the time although an occasional diesel will be seen.

MARC service is Monday through Friday only, plan your railfanning accordingly.  If you enjoy riding the rails, one suggestion would be to take the Penn line from Baltimore to DC, then take the Camden line back to Baltimore.  Once back in Baltimore, if you parked at or near Penn Station, you can round off the trip by taking the light rail back up to Penn Station.

Amtrak will honor MARC tickets on certain trains, check the MARC website for details.


MTA Photo Policy
