"Heart of the New River Gorge." It has only 5 full time residents according to the 2010 census. But has a historic
station serving Amtrak (the Cardinal), a coaling tower, rail bridge, an old set of Semaphore signals, a massive new signal
bridge and a photogenic few downtown stores and main street just 15 feet from the main line. The station also serves
as a visitor center, and interpretive center for the New River Gorge National River, famous for white water action.
