Description: Vermilion, OH is located in North Central Ohio on Lake Erie approximately 35 miles west of Cleveland.
The NS Chicago Line here sees up to 90 trains in a 24 hour period. (per FRA statistics) There is a small viewing
platform next to the double track main at Victory Park; and across the tracks is a restored NYC depot which is now
a visitor center. Just south a few blocks is the NS Bellevue branch with perhaps another 20 trains per day
Approximate # trains per 24 hours: 90+ on the Chicago Line
boat launch area. N 41.41995, W82.35760 Park in the upper lot. Good views of the NS crossing the Vermilion
river bridge can be had from the Vermilion River. P. Kovac informs me that this is a better spot for viewing trains
than Victory Park.

the Main Street Beach on Lake Erie at the north end of Main St. is a great place to unwind in warm weather.

With
many thank yous to P. Korvac for e-mailing these great pictures of
Victory Park to me. He states in his e-mail " It is a nice place
but one
draw back will be that the parking lot is part of a
Catholic school from what I could see. So during school parking will be a
problem. There is parking
on the street also look
like on the other side of the tracks... ...Victory Park is a
nice place but not that great for viewing trains.
