Description: Behind the beautifully restored KCUS there Is a pedestrian overpass over the triple track BNSF Transcon
tracks that pass by Union Station. Trains from Union Pacific, BNSF, Kansas City Southern, and Kansas City Terminal
can be seen. Amtrak’s Southwest Chief and the Missouri River Runner trains use the station, 2 each way each day,
to St. Louis.

Other interesting or fun stuff: The restoration added Science City at Union Station, an interactive and entertaining
science facility. Science City includes of adventures—ranging from taking a simulated space flight at the Challenger
Learning Center to discovering what makes the human body tick at Dr. Hale N. Hearty’s Family Clinic. Union Station is
also home to several unique restaurants and shops. Also across the street to the south is The Liberty Memorial World
War 1 Museum and Monument.
